However, the complexity of human psychological development is established early in life and continues to evolve, particularly when children enter school age. At this stage, the presence of the father is one of the key factors influencing children's psychosocial development. Unfortunately, in various situations, fathers are not always physically present in their children's lives due to work-related reasons or specific circumstances. This study aims to formulate strategies for distant fathers' involvement in the development of school-age children using Albert Bandura's social learning theory approach. The study employs a qualitative method with a literature review approach through thematic analysis, examining Erikson's and Bandura's theories as well as relevant literature. The results of the study indicate that distant fathers can still play an active role as learning models for children through three main strategies: (1) intensive interaction and communication, (2) emotional validation and appreciation, and (3) teaching patience and empathy. In conclusion, despite physical separation, fathers can still build meaningful involvement through communication technology. These findings contribute significantly to enriching the scientific discourse on the role of fathers in parenting and can serve as a practical reference for Indonesian families facing similar realities.
Harlinton Simanjuntak Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pelayanan Pastoral https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://e-journal.stp-ipi.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/716 Wed, 22 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Pengaruh Fisioterapi untuk Meningkatkan Kemampuan Motorik Kasar pada Anak Cerebral Palsy di Panti Asuhan Bhakti Luhur Surabaya https://e-journal.stp-ipi.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/703
Physiotherapy is a healthcare field focused on restoring, maintaining, and improving an individual's physical function through therapeutic exercises, body manipulation, and the use of medical equipment. The primary goals of physiotherapy are to reduce pain, improve mobility, correct posture, and restore bodily functions impaired due to injuries, neurological disorders, or other medical conditions. One condition that requires physiotherapy is cerebral palsy, a motor development disorder that affects movement and coordination. This study aims to determine the effect of physiotherapy on improving gross motor skills in children with cerebral palsy. The research employs an experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study subjects consist of five children with cerebral palsy residing at Bhakti Luhur Orphanage in Surabaya. Data collection was carried out through pre-test and post-test assessments to measure changes in gross motor skills after physiotherapy. The data analysis technique used inferential statistical t-tests, with results showing that tcount = 2.88 is greater than ttable = 2.132. Based on these results, Ho is rejected, and Ha is accepted, indicating a significant effect of physiotherapy on improving gross motor skills in children with cerebral palsy. This study emphasizes the crucial role of physiotherapy in helping children with cerebral palsy enhance their motor skills, positively impacting their quality of life and independence in daily activities. Therefore, physiotherapy should be part of a routine intervention for children with cerebral palsy to support optimal motor development.
Fridolina Amfotis, Amelia Risky Idhartono, Muhammad N. However, the Indonesian education system continued to face a range of interrelated challenges. Discussions concerning educational quality were often linked to external factors affecting students, whereas the quality of learning outcomes did not solely depend on such external influences, but was also shaped by various complex internal factors within the students themselves. This study aimed to analyse the influence of parental involvement and teacher support on the learning goal orientation (LGO) of students at SMPK Santa Maria II Malang. The research employed a survey method, characterised by selecting a sample from a single population and utilising a questionnaire as the primary data collection instrument. The sample comprised 230 students out of a total population of 574. Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS software with multiple regression techniques. The results indicated that the correlation coefficient between the independent and dependent variables was 0.610, which could be interpreted as a strong relationship. In terms of causality, the simultaneous regression analysis yielded a significance value (Sig.F) of 0.001 (< 0.05), indicating that the regression model was suitable for predicting students’ LGO. Furthermore, the partial regression results demonstrated that both parental involvement and teacher support significantly affected students’ LGO, as evidenced by each variable’s Sig.t value of 0.001 (< 0.05). Therefore, it was concluded that the hypotheses – both simultaneous and partial – were all supported by the data.
Laurensius Laka, Ignasius En Gedi Agung Purnomo Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pelayanan Pastoral https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://e-journal.stp-ipi.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/712 Wed, 22 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Penerimaan dan Dukungan Keluarga Penyandang Disabilitas Rungu Wicara: Studi pada Unit Informasi dan Layanan Sosial (UILS) Koja https://e-journal.stp-ipi.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/747
This study discusses how families deal with the reality that their children have speech disabilities or cannot speak normally. The main issue examined in this study is how families accept and support children with speech disabilities, as well as how social institutions such as the Koja Social Information and Service Unit (UILS) help families form new meanings for disability. This study aims to examine the process of acceptance and forms of family support for children with speech and hearing disabilities at the Social Information and Service Unit (UILS) in Koja. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The results of the study were obtained through observation and semi-structured interviews. The theory used in this study is George Herbert Mead's Mind, Self, and Society theory. The results of the study show that the family acceptance process takes place in stages, from rejection to full acceptance, influenced by economic, cultural, spiritual, and social stigma factors. From the perspective of George Herbert Mead's Mind, Self, and Society theory, the identity of the child and family is shaped through social interaction, symbols, and support received from the environment. The conclusion of this study is the importance of striving to create a supportive and positive environment for the acceptance of people with disabilities, specifically an environment like the social institution Unit Informasi dan Layanan Sosial (UILS) Koja as an agent of transformation in shaping collective meaning and family acceptance of hearing and speech disabilities.
Shabrina Riana, Musahwi, Nurlaili Khikmawati Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pelayanan Pastoral https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://e-journal.stp-ipi.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/747 Fri, 31 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Euthanasia dan Martabat Manusia: Kajian Hukum, Medis, Etis, dan Moral Katolik https://e-journal.stp-ipi.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/804
This study aims to comprehensively analyze the phenomenon of euthanasia through a multidimensional approach encompassing legal, medical, ethical, and Catholic moral perspectives, placing human dignity at the core of reflection. The issue of euthanasia presents a complex dilemma between respect for individual autonomy and the moral duty to uphold the universal value of life. In Indonesia, euthanasia is strictly prohibited as it violates the constitutional and criminal law principles protecting the right to life as a fundamental human right. Conversely, countries such as the Netherlands, Belgium, and Canada have legalized euthanasia under stringent regulations requiring patient consent, terminal medical conditions, and professional responsibility from physicians. From a medical ethics perspective, the principles of autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, and justice form the moral foundation for end-of-life decision-making. The Catholic Church, through Evangelium Vitae and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, rejects active euthanasia as contrary to the sanctity of life and human dignity as imago Dei. However, discontinuing extraordinary or disproportionate medical treatment is considered permissible under the principle of proportionality and respect for natural death. The study concludes that a multidimensional approach offers a balanced framework for understanding euthanasia, safeguarding human dignity, and promoting palliative care as a more ethical, humane, and just alternative.
Yanto Sandy Tjang, Mayong Andreas Acin Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pelayanan Pastoral https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://e-journal.stp-ipi.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/804 Fri, 31 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Pemanfaatan Media AMIGO untuk Memahami Benda-benda Rohani Katolik bagi Tunanetra https://e-journal.stp-ipi.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/723
Access to meaningful and equal Catholic religious education is still a challenge for blind students, especially in understanding visual and abstract liturgical symbols. The lack of inclusive tactile-based learning media leads to low participation and involvement of visually impaired students in religious learning, which should be a space for strengthening spiritual and moral values. This research aims to design and develop AMIGO (Compound Attributes of Faith in Object Images), in the form of word cards equipped with embossed images, Braille letters, and cautionary writing. The research method uses the ADDIE development model, which is focused on the Analyze, Design, and Develop stages. The design results show that AMIGO effectively integrates visual, tactile, and symbolic elements to help blind students recognize, palp, and understand the shapes and meanings of Catholic spiritual objects used in Eucharistic celebrations. This multisensory approach not only strengthens the cognitive understanding of visually impaired students, but also creates an inclusive learning atmosphere with attentive students. In addition to increasing Braille literacy in religious contexts, AMIGO is also a concrete embodiment of the principle of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in Catholic education. Thus, the development of this media contributes to creating a religious education system that is equitable, equitable, and disability-friendly, and can be replicated for the development of broader inclusive learning
Vincensius Sebastian Ferreri, Angelina Nova Pratiwi, Fransisca Mezzaluna Setyawan, Rafael Jonathans, Laudya Miyashita Arnest Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pelayanan Pastoral https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://e-journal.stp-ipi.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/723 Fri, 31 Oct 2025 00:00:00 +0700 Strategi Guru Pendidikan Agama Katolik dalam Implementasi Moderasi Beragama https://e-journal.stp-ipi.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/761
The multicultural society of Pontianak City demands a strategic role from Catholic Religious Education teachers in implementing the values of religious moderation among students. Schools, as institutions for shaping religious and national character, serve as the most appropriate place to instill these values systematically and sustainably. This study aims to explore the strategies employed by Catholic Religious Education teachers in applying the values of religious moderation through the Merdeka Curriculum. The method used is qualitative research with data collected through in-depth interviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) to obtain comprehensive insights. The informants consisted of 20 Catholic Religious Education teachers actively teaching in various schools across Pontianak City. The collected data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the implemented values include tolerance, non-violence, justice, and national commitment. These values are conveyed through narrative approaches, open dialogues, interfaith activities, and consistent character formation. The challenges encountered include external environmental influences that do not always support religious moderation, as well as exclusive mindsets still held by some students. In conclusion, the successful implementation of religious moderation requires cross-sector collaboration and continuous character strengthening within the educational ecosystem. Furthermore, training and curriculum support aligned with these values are necessary to enable teachers to effectively carry out their moderative roles in a pluralistic society.
Yohanes Chandra Kurnia Saputra, Adi Ria Singir Meliyanto Copyright (c) 2025 Jurnal Pelayanan Pastoral https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0 https://e-journal.stp-ipi.ac.id/index.php/jpp/article/view/761 Sat, 31 May 2025 00:00:00 +0700
