Journal History
The Journal of Pastoral Ministry (JPP) was established in 2020 on the initiative of stakeholders in the Pastoral Ministry Study Program to create a scientific publication platform that accommodates academic contributions from lecturers and students in the discipline of pastoral ministry. The inaugural issue of this journal, Vol. 1 No. 1 (October 2020), featured eight articles. Since Vol. 2 No. 1 (2021), JPP has established an editorial policy of publishing seven articles per issue.
In an effort to improve academic quality and visibility, JPP underwent strategic reforms in 2023 by applying for accreditation from the National Journal Accreditation Agency, Ministry of Education and Culture. This initiative reflects the institutional commitment to improving publication standards and the relevance of the journal's contributions in supporting the development of academic discourse and professional practices in the field of pastoral ministry. Visual reforms of the journal were also carried out with the introduction of a new cover design starting from Vol. 4 No. 1 (2023), in line with efforts to modernize the publication's identity.
The results of these accreditation efforts were realized in 2024, when JPP obtained SINTA 5 accreditation status through the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology, Ministry of Education and Culture, Research and Technology Number 177/E/KPT/2024. This accreditation is valid for the period from Vol. 2 No. 2 (2021) to Vol. 7 No. 1 (2026), confirming a significant improvement in the quality standards of the journal and the management of JPP publications.
